Rating by category:
very good standard rooms and excellent staff. good breakfast and very central for shopping (covering grafton st and O'connell st environs - approx equal distance) and entertainment.
the bed was very uncomfortable- room 304. My wife and I both had back problems after 1 night of staying at the hotel
We were very disappointed with the temple bar hotel. It was poor value for money!! It was an expensive hotel and the room we had didn't match the price standard. The window was broke, holes in the walls, loose electric cables in the bathroom and floor which was dangerous. The hairdryer was shoved in a draw where it was supposed to be attached to the wall. Worst hotel we have stayed in.
I liked the convenience of being in the heart of a lively bustling area full of lively bars and excellent restaurants. It was also convenient for hop on/hop off bus tours.
Because of its convenience to the lively Temple Bar area it could get a bit noisy at night but this was outweighed by the advantages.
Friendliness of employees. Competent reaction on complaint about noise (new room for the second night, see below).
There are some rooms located close to/ above the extremely noisy pub below. I had room 123, where sleeping is hardly possible before the pub closes. After that loudly shouting drunk patrons are waking you up one last time. In addition there are noisy fans on a roof, which is exactly on the same level as the window. It is unacceptable to pay eur 100,- and more and not be able to sleep. However, staff is aware of the situation and moved me to another room for the second night. The other room was perfect. It would be highly recommendable for the management to close down the noisy rooms or clearly indicate the constraint and rent them for a significantly reduced rate (not more than eur 50,-).
Location. Walking distance center of Dublin
I have never bothered to write a review for a hotel, let alone in another country. The scene is set in an active construction site with hammers, saws and dropping heavy equipment starting at 6AM. Our first night we had the fire alarms go off at midnight and 1AM followed by another at 8AM. After speaking with multiple staff members it became obvious they were not going to admit to construction or wrong doing. I took a video with all the construction the second morning so they gave us a complimentary breakfast pass. I can't explain in words how poorly they made us feel for our complaints like we were making this up. They continued to parrot fire alarms are their for our safety and there is no active construction.
Furnishings. The first room we had for 2 nights in 4th floor had very little water pressure but air con and super quiet from triple glazed Windows. I'm quite partial to a good strong shower. As we got too drunk to make our flight we rebooked for another night and got deluxe twin on 2nd. Much better pressure for shower:) no air con tho
Dribble shower. A little tired the bathroom in places on 4th floor.
The central location in terms of bars and late night revelry. The staff were extremely friendly and wanted to be of assistance. We turned up and our rooms were not quite ready so we were invited for complimentary drinks at the bar next door and it took just 10 mins to sort things out.
Whereas my wife and I had a lovely quiet suite at the rear of the property, my clubbing children were on the 2nd floor above the busy street. It wasn't the party crowd that woke them but the early morning street / window cleaners that spoiled their lay in.
Great location Rooms modern Great staff Free breaky as result of non aircon room
Not all rooms have aircon so be careful when booking - very hot & stuffy. Due to design, shower curtain wraps around body while trying to shower - very uncomfortable.
Front desk staff went above and beyond to help us with the slightest request. We found the rooms and especially the bed to be very comfortable. We were concerned about noise but our room was quiet at night even with the window opened as we were towards the back of the hotel. I also liked the bar named Busker's attached to the hotel.
The thermostats were broken during our visit and our room was hot even though it was cool outside. We tried to cool it off by opening windows but the windows are not designed to allow much air inside.
The fire alarm went off at 7am and I couldn't get back to sleep!
Very friendly staff - very clean and comfortable rooms. Surprisingly quiet given the location.
They are doing some renovations. Didn't really impact anything so not much of a criticism.
good. The wall new print. smell not so good.
Simply awesome greeting, staff friendliness and professionalism was impeccable. Whilst the staff grooming was as good as any top rated airline their attitude to guests was at all times friendly and helpful. Our room was of a perfect size and modern. Again it felt friendly with slippers and robes available and nice quality toiletries. Despite its popular location in Temple Bar it wasn't noisy as one would have expected (earplugs provided anyway). Again at breakfast a lovely morning greeting and we were shown where everything was, including newspapers, enroute to our table we were told the names of the various staff and what they did, ie Barista, Wait staff etc.
The only improvement we would like to see is at breakfast. Our table for two was not large but adequate however our plates were not removed between courses. The table had been set and when ordering a coffee the unused cups were left on the table as were the juice glasses making it uncomfortable to negotiate cutlery and eating. Unfortunately I had to clear off the unrequired crockery etc, as I couldn't get anyone's attention. Finally, having waited too long a time I had to attract the attention of someone to ask for a pot of tea. I'd eaten my breakfast and no one had come to offer a hot drink.
The position - indeed the best area to stay in Dublin!
